Man arrested with marijuana at DeKalb KFC
SYCAMORE – Chicken was not the only aroma filling the lobby of the DeKalb KFC on Monday night.
After smelling a strong scent of marijuana coming from a customer, KFC employees called police who eventually identified and arrested Parkland Beard after a brief chase through the lobby and into the parking lot, police said.
Beard, 21, of the 1100 block of West Lincoln Highway in DeKalb, was charged Monday with possession of marijuana, possession of marijuana with intent to deliver within 1,000 feet of a school, obstructing identification and resisting a peace officer.
