Icy roads blamed for crashes across DeKalb County
The National Weather Service is warning that heavy rains could cause flooding today, about 18 hours after freezing rain and ice were blamed for at least seven crashes Sunday and Monday across DeKalb County.
Only one accident resulted in an injury.
A 40-year-old Schaumburg man was taken to Kishwaukee Community Hospital with head injuries after a crash about 4:15 p.m. Sunday in the 15300 block of Plank Road near Sycamore, according to a DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office news release. He was driving a 2007 Dodge Sprinter east when he veered south, hit a utility pole and two trees, police said. He was not listed at the hospital Monday evening.
