NIU men's basketball sets NCAA records in in 42-25 loss to EMU

Northern Illinois' men's basketball team set four NCAA records for scoring futility in the Huskies' 42-25 loss to Eastern Michigan on Saturday afternoon.

NIU (4-14, 2-4 Mid-American Conference West) scored just four points in the first half, trailing EMU, 18-4, at the half and setting the NCAA record for fewest points scored in a half in the shot-clock era. The Huskies scored five points in the first half against Dayton earlier in the season.

NIU's 25 points barely eclipsed the NCAA record for least points scored in a game during the shot-clock era. St. Louis University scored just 20 points in a game in 2008.
