The IHSA released the seeds for the Class 3A and 4A girls basketball state tournament.
Despite DeKalb's 17-3 record and No. 9 ranking in the Associated Press Class 4A poll, the Barbs were awarded the No. 2 seed in the Class 4A Belvidere Regional. Belvidere North is the No. 1 seed. The Blue Thunder are 18-5 with a 9-2 record in the NIC-10.
DeKalb will have a tough mathcup in No. 3 seed Huntley in the regional semifinals. The Red Raiders are a talented squad with the size to match up with the Barbs inside.
In the Class 3A Burlington Regional, Kaneland was awarded the No. 3 seed while Sycamore is the No. 4 seed. Burlington Central is the No. 1 seed in the six-team regional. Kaneland will play No. 6 seed Sandwich in the regional quarterfinals while Sycamore faces fifth-seeded Hampshire.
In the Class 3A Woodstock Regional, Genoa-Kingston is the No. 6 seed in six-team regional. The Cogs will play Richmond-Burton in the regional quarterfinals.
