Published: Thursday, Jan. 3, 2013 5:30 a.m. CDT

The Sycamore Music Boosters’ fifth annual “A Note to Remember” event will be held from 7 to 11 p.m. Feb. 9 at Blumen Gardens in Sycamore and will feature the acclaimed Chris Johnson Quartet.

Chris Johnson is a gifted trombonist with a sound deeply rooted in hard-swinging blues and gospel. He studied jazz at Northern Illinois University with Ronald Carter.

Diana Carls, formerly known as Diana Morrasy, also will perform, as will the Sycamore High School Jazz Ensemble and other school ensembles. An elegant sweet and savory hors d’oeuvres buffet and coffee bar will be included. There will be numerous raffle and silent auction prizes, donated by local businesses.

A limited number of tickets are available for this adult-only event for $20, which includes musical entertainment, hors d’oeuvres and coffee bar. A cash bar also will be available.

Tickets are on sale at all upcoming Sycamore concerts, at the Sycamore High School main office, via email at Note2Remember@gmail.com or by phone at 815-757-5688. For more information, visit ww.sycamoremusicboosters.com.

The Sycamore Music Boosters is a group of families and friends of students enrolled in music education classes in Sycamore schools. This fundraiser will aid in the purchase of instruments, uniforms and scholarships for Sycamore musicians.
