DeKALB - The community is invited to welcome home the Northern Illinois University football team this afternoon at the Convocation Center.

The Huskies are expected to return from Miami, where they played in the Orange Bowl on Tuesday, about 2:30 p.m., according to an NIU news release. Fans can bring signs, thunderstix, pom pons and other Huskies gear to show their support at the Convocation Center, 525 W. Lincoln Highway, DeKalb.

Fans should park in lot C2 and wait for the team inside the south lobby at Entrance 4, the release states. The fans will be invited outside when the team in near so they can line the Convocation Center drive.
