Thrown can at police car leads to man’s arrest

SANDWICH – A 20-year-old Sandwich man was arrested Saturday morning on suspicion of underage drinking and resisting a police officer after police said he threw a pop can at a squad car.

Jesus O. Villa, of the 300 block of Wentworth Street, bought a can of pop from the lobby of the Sandwich Police Department, and then allegedly threw the can at a police car parked outside. The police car was not damaged.

Police said Villa resisted them when they tracked him down, but was arrested after a “very brief skirmish,” according to a press release.
