Northern Rehab offers two balance classes

Northern Rehab Physical Therapy Specialists now offers two levels of Balance and Wellness Classes aimed to improve balance disorders that affect people across all walks of life.

Both classes seek to improve balance, flexibility, strength, prevent falls, enhance energy levels, increase confidence of performing daily activities and more.

Balance Basics is a beginning level class with the main focus on improving balance. All new participants will begin with this class. Balance Basics is offered at the main clinic at 3266 Resource Parkway in DeKalb from 1 to 2 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays.

Stability and Strength is an intermediate level class where participants focus on high level balance activities, as well as muscle strengthening, core stability and flexibility. Stability and Strength is offered at three different locations. Classes at the main clinic, 3266 Resource Parkway, DeKalb, and the Genoa clinic, 540 E. Main St., Genoa, meet from noon to 1 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays. Classes at the Lincoln Highway branch at 232 West Lincoln Highway in DeKalb meet from noon to 1 p.m. Mondays and Wednesdays.

Balance Basics and Stability and Strength classes run for five weeks and include 10 sessions. The next session begins the week of Jan. 7. The cost is $50 for 10 sessions.
