DeKalb County officials emphasize proper plowing
As the first snowstorm of the winter season descends on DeKalb County, county officials urged residents to use lawful snowplowing methods.
State law prohibits people from shoveling snow and ice onto any public roadway. A joint statement from DeKalb County Engineer Nathan Schwartz and Sheriff Roger Scott said doing so could result in citations and a court appearance.
In the statement, Schwartz and Scott advised residents to plow snow to the right side of the driveway.
