Dance company pays homage to ‘Peanuts’
StudioM Dance Company will present “Parading with the Peanuts Gang,” an original dance production featuring Charles Schulz’s beloved Peanuts characters, at 7 p.m. Friday at Boutell Memorial Concert Hall on the campus of Northern Illinois University in DeKalb.
“I have wanted to do this show for many years,” said Lisa Morreale, owner and artistic director of StudioM. “The Peanuts characters have been a part of so many childhoods and are still a tradition in many homes today. Even though my children are all now grown, we still make time to spend our holidays with Charlie Brown and the Peanuts gang.”
Taking on the lead character roles are Maddi Hoth of DeKalb as Charlie Brown, Abby Goldman of Sycamore as Lucy, Johnna Rohlman of DeKalb as Linus, Abbey Brooks of DeKalb as Sally, Sophie Hoth of DeKalb as Snoopy, Lexi Salapatek of Cortland as Woodstock, Izi Myers-Miller of DeKalb as Peppermint Patty, Annie Tyrrell of DeKalb as Marcy, Elizabeth Warner of DeKalb as Pig Pen and Kelsie Kruskol of Sycamore as Schroeder.
