Autopsy results back for NIU freshman found dead
DeKALB - The 19-year-old Northern Illinois University freshman found dead Nov. 2 in a fraternity house had a blood-alcohol content of 0.351 percent, DeKalb County Coroner Dennis Miller said.
David Bogenberger, a 2012 Palatine High School freshman, was found non-responsive Nov. 2 at the Pi Kappa Alpha house at 1020 W. Hillcrest Drive in DeKalb.
Miller ruled the death accidental. He determined the amount of alcohol in Bogenberger's system triggered arrhythmia. Bogenberger had an enlarged heart and, according to his parents, was an inexperienced drinker, Miller said.
The legal limit to drive is a blood-alcohol content of 0.08 percent. Miller said a blood-alcohol content of 0.3 to 0.4 percent would render someone of Bogenberger's size unconscious.
