A DeKalb man has claimed his $200,000 Illinois lottery prize, 10 months after winning.

Jacob Skala hit the jackpot playing Little Lotto – which since he won has changed its name to Lucky Day Lotto – when his $1 quick pick ticket matched all five numbers in the Feb. 13 drawing. Skala played the numbers 16, 21, 24, 27 and 28.

Ten months later, Skala cashed it in to claim his prize.

"I don't like to rush into anything," Skala said in a news release on the Illinois Lottery web site. "I'm a patient person."

The winning ticket was purchased at the Jewel on Sycamore Road, and the store received a $2,000 bonus – one percent of the prize amount – for selling the winning ticket.
