Kate Thuestad recorded 15 points, five assists and six rebounds as the Indian Creek girls basketball team got a 58-27 victory over Leland-Earl-ville at home Monday night.
Samantha Mosley added 16 points and nine rebounds in the win while Ariel Russell dished out six assists.
“Samantha did a nice job of running the floor, getting in transition and easy baskets,” Indian Creek coach Paul Muchmore said. “It was nice to see Kate knock down some open shots, and she did a nice job running the team.”
Indian Creek improved to 4-6, including 2-2 in the Little Ten Conference. The Timberwolves play Wednesday at Immaculate Conception.
G-K falls at Pecatonica: Genoa-Kingston lost to host Pecatonica, 45-36, on the first day of the Pecatonica Holiday Tournament.
Katie Thurlby led the Cogs with nine points while Bria Foley had eight. Andrea Stroh-maier and Courtney Winters each pitched in six for the Cogs (2-8).
“Through the first three quarters it was a pretty close game,” G-K coach Kyle Henkel said. “We continue to be our own worst enemy. They capitalized on too many turnovers. We improved a little bit tonight, but we just have to cut our mental mistakes.”
Kaneland falls to IMSA: The Knights lost a close match to IMSA at home, 2,711-2,560.
Christie Crews led the Knights with a 477 series while Angela Charhut contributed a 470 series, including a single-game high score of 200. Amanda Strayve bowled a 180 game for Kaneland.
