PREP ROUNDUP: DeKalb swim co-op wins invitational title

DeKalb - Sycamore swim co-op took home an invitational championship on Saturday.

The Barbs (389 points) edged Rock Island (363) and Rockford Boylan (219).

"It was a very really exciting meet," co-op coach Leah Eames said. "It was between us and Rock Island the whole meet. We really finished strong as a team and we came away with a win. Any invitational is difficult to win."

Daniel Hein won the 100-yard butterfly and Marc Dubrick won the 500 freestyle. The Barbs had three relays come away with victories. Dubrick, Ryan Schultz, Josh Page and Hein combined to win the 400 medley. Amal Tatum, Tyler Schultz, Holden Mackey and Austin Bockman won the 200 free.
