Booth-Bird

Colin and Deborah Booth are proud to announce the engagement of their daughter, Anna Booth, to Jason Bird, son of Doug and Tee Bird of Limerick, Penn.

Anna is a 2003 graduate of DeKalb High School. Her undergraduate degree is from Case Western Reserve University, where she double-majored in biology and Spanish. She has a medical degree from Drexel University and is in her second year as an internal medicine resident at Loyola University Medical Center in Chicago.

Jason attended West Chester University in West Chester, Penn., where he majored in accounting. His MBA is from St. Joseph’s University in Philadelphia and he received CPA certification in 2011. He is a senior cost analyst and plant controller at CertainTeed Corporation in Philadelphia.

The wedding is planned for summer 2014.

50th anniversary

Daniel L. Haws of Creston and Janice L. Heins of Malta were married on Dec. 21, 1962, in Reno, Nev. They lived in California before returning to Illinois where they have remained in the DeKalb County area.

Both retired from Northern Illinois University on Dec. 21, 1995; Daniel as lead engineer from the Heating and Ventilation department, and Janice as assistant payroll supervisor.

They have two sons, Michael L. (Lori) and Mark H. Haws of Texas. Also, they are blessed with two grandchildren, Jessica Janiece Haws and Daniel Lawson Haws.

A family celebration is planned in Texas.
