Freezin’ for Food camp starts Wednesday

DeKALB – School children already are collecting food for the 12th annual Freezin’ for Food drive, but a local radio personality will begin his annual camp out Wednesday.

Terry Ryan, program director for local radio station WLBK-1360 AM, will camp in an RV in the parking lot near Aldi from noon Wednesday to noon Saturday to collect food and monetary donations for The Salvation Army of DeKalb County’s food pantry. Last year, the effort collected 16,295 pounds of food, with this year’s goal set at 17,000 pounds.

Aldi is at 2569 Sycamore Road in DeKalb.
