Rolled semi closes Route 64 in Sycamore
SYCAMORE – No one was injured when a semi truck going westbound on Route 64 overturned in front of The Hardwood Connection and Elburn Coop, at the 1800 block of West State Street.
Route 64 between Peace Road and First Street was blocked by police as employees from Lovett's 24 Hour Towing worked to move the truck off the street early Monday evening. The overturned semi covered both lanes of traffic. The accident happened about 3:10 p.m. Monday.
Sgt. Jim Burgh of the DeKalb County Sheriff's Office said the driver, Michael Binns, became distracted by something inside his vehicle, which led to the accident. Burgh said Binns was transporting artificial sweetener to Monroe, Wis.
