PREP ROUNDUP: Clark, Campbell lead Hawks in win

The Hiawatha girls basketball team won, 48-29, over Harvest Christian on Friday. Dani Clark led the way with 13 points and 16 rebounds while Savannah Campbell chipped in 11 points and Ashley Tamraz had nine.

“It was a good, well-balanced scoring offensive performance,” coach Franz Schumacher said. “We're starting to jell with this group, and it's starting to look good.”

BOYS BASKETBALL

Indian Creek gets tourney win: Jaron Todd had 20 points and seven rebounds for the Timberwolves (5-1) in a 59-62 win over Milledgeville at the Eastland Shootout. Garrison Govig scored 17 points for Indian Creek.

Knights win conference affair:
Kaneland beat Morris, 32-31 in its Northern Illinois Big 12 East opener. John Pruett scored 11 points for the Knights and Dan Miller added nine.

GIRLS BOWLING

DeKalb finishes 14th at Fremd: Maddy Jouris led the Barbs with 497 pins, but coach Bill Holland said his team was off its game at the 20-team tournament.

WRESTLING

Kaneland beats Lemont, loses to Plano:
In a 54-21 win over Lemont, Stephen Gust, Esai Ponce, Dan Goress, Austin Parks and Zach Russell won by pin. 

In a 36-35 loss to Plano, the Knights won six of the seven lightest weight classes, with 126-pounder david Barnhart and 138-pounder Sonny Horn winning by pin, but the Knights lost the six heaviest weight classes.

FRIDAY'S RESULTS

BOYS BASKETBALL

H-BR beats Leland-Earlville: Michael Bayler scored a game-high 27 points in the 91-68 win. Bernie Conley and Jared Madden each had 15 points and seven assists for the Royals (4-1).

T-Wolves down Bobcats:
Led by 19 points from Jaron Todd, Indian Creek beat Somonauk, 53-49. Marcus Alstadt led the way for Somonauk with 16 points and three steals.

GIRLS BASKETBALL

Johnson leads Barbs over Yorkville:
Madelyne Johnson scored 16 points and grabbed six rebounds for DeKalb, and Rachel Torres scored 12 points in the conference win.

Knights win conference opener:
Allyson O'Herron scored 12 points in the Knights' 56-27 win over Morris. The Knights are 5-0 overall.
