SUMC sets Christmas Choral Celebration

The community is invited to celebrate the “One Child” who changed the world at 6 p.m. Saturday and Sunday at Sycamore United Methodist Church’s Christmas Choral Celebration.

The concert will feature three choirs, several trios and quartets, instrumentalists, and a dance team headed by Atlee Mathews. Chanette Oeser, Emma Olson, Katie Denius, Paige Phelps and David Rauch will be the featured instrumentalists, as well as Craig Fritz on piano and organ, and Julie Maurer and Saundra Huftalin on piano.

Doug Elder directs Good News!, a men’s quartet, accompanied by Ann Elder. Jim McCue created a PowerPoint presentation to go along with the candlelight processional. The production, created by music director Bev Rauch, features a wide variety of musical styles, from classical to gospel. The congregation also will participate in many beloved carols.
