Radogno retains top
Senate GOP spot

SPRINGFIELD – State Sen. Christine Radogno is keeping her spot as the Illinois Senate’s GOP leader for at least two more years.

Republicans voted to keep Radogno in that position during a closed-door meeting in Springfield on Wednesday evening.

The Lemont Republican fended off a challenge by Sen. Kylie McCarter of Lebanon. He’s a businessman who launched a challenge for the leadership post after Democrats secured a 40-seat supermajority during the Nov. 6 election.
