County to distribute food and shelter funds
DeKALB – The DeKalb County Community Services Department has $52,713 to help feed the hungry and help low-income households through the Emergency Food and Shelter National Board Program.
The federal funding, which decreased $915 from last year’s appropriation, is available to local nonprofit organizations or government entities that have an accounting system and conduct an annual audit, practice nondiscrimination and have a demonstrated capability to deliver emergency food, rent or utility assistance or shelter services, according to a news release.
Private organizations also must have a voluntary board.
