Stage Coach readies for 'A Christmas Carol'

Don Austin of Hinckley portrays Ebenezer Scrooge in Stage Coach Players’ eighth annual production of “A Christmas Carol” at Stage Coach Theater, 126 S. Fifth St. in DeKalb. The show runs Dec. 6 through 9.

This adaptation of the Christmas classic written by G. Scott Morris, is based on the story by Charles Dickens and is directed by Norm Read. Ornery and stingy Ebenezer Scrooge’s heart has hardened over the years from his obsession with money. After the supernatural visits of his dead business partner and the ghosts of Christmas Past, Present and Yet to Come, he awakes with a renewed spirit and dedication to honor Christmas in his heart and keep it all the year.

Performances will be held at 7:30 p.m. Dec. 6, 7 and 8 and 2 p.m. Dec. 8 and 9. Saturday’s matinee is a Toys for Tots performance.
