Newman Center hosts madrigal-style fundraiser

The Newman Catholic Student Center and Christ the Teacher University Parish will hold its 52nd annual benefit dinner at 5:30 p.m. Dec. 1. The madrigal-style dinner, called “Merriment and More,” will be hosted by St. Thomas More and his wife, Lady Alice.

The evening will begin with a social hour while guests bid on silent auction items. The parish basement will be transformed into a medieval castle, where dinner will be served. The menu, prepared by Lincoln Inn, will feature a honey citrus Cornish hen half with herb roasted pork loin, homemade stuffing, sweet potato and vegetable medley, salad, fresh baked breads and assorted fruit cobbler with whipped cream. A vegetarian option is available upon request.

Diners will be treated to entertainment for both eye and ear as parishioners and students perform. A live auction and dancing will follow.
