Congregation Beth Shalom plans holiday

Hanukkah begins this year on the evening of Dec. 8. In anticipation, Congregation Beth Shalom’s Hanukkah Shop will be open for one day only – Dec. 2.

Shop hours are during the congregation’s Religious School, from 10 a.m. to noon. Items for sale include candles, menorahs, dreidels, gelt, wrapping paper, and gift items, including small toys. General Judaic items also will be available, as well as CDs of Koleynu, the congregation’s choir. The congregation is located at 820 Russell Road in DeKalb.

Congregation members and their guests also will celebrate together with a Hanukkah party at 5 p.m. Dec. 9. Traditional latkes will be served.
