PREP ROUNDUP: T'Wolves win consolation title

The Indian Creek girls basketball team defeated Timothy Christian, 34-28, in the consolation championship of the Aurora Hoops Happenings Tournament.

Kate Thuestad led the way for the Timberwolves, finishing with 12 points and nine rebounds. Ariel Russell had seven points for Indian Creek, while Samantha Mosley finished with six points and nine rebounds.

Kaneland opens season with win: Kaneland beat Regina Dominican, 47-38, at the Immaculate Conception Tournament. Emma Bradford led the Knights with 13 points and four steals, while Sarah Grams finished with eight points and five rebounds. Allyson O'Herron had seven points and four rebounds for Kaneland (1-0).

Cogs go winless at Harvard: Genoa-Kingston lost two games at the Harvard Tournament. Crystal lake Central beat the Cogs, 44-10, while Harvard got a 41-35 win over G-K in overtime.

Andrea Strohmaier had three points for the Cogs against C.L. Central, and added 16 against Harvard. Danielle Engel finished with 12 points in the Harvard loss.
