Waterman Seed helps breast cancer research
KishHealth Foundation accepted a donation on Oct. 26 from Waterman Seed Production for The Cancer Center at Kishwaukee Community Hospital.
With the support of the employees, harvest truck drivers, and farmers in the Rock Falls growing area, the Waterman Seed Production site raised $5,130 during the months of September and October for breast cancer support.
“The initial goal was to raise around $1,000 by selling pink hard hats, which employees could wear during the month of October at work to show their support for the fight against breast cancer,” site nurse Sherry Uhrich said in a news release. “Then employee Rachel Enfield suggested that we also design and sell T-shirts to go along with the hard hats.”
