Deadline approaching for Thanksgiving dinner program

DeKALB – People have until noon Thursday to register for the local Salvation Army's Thanksgiving basket giveaway program.

The organization will give more than 700 food baskets to individuals, families and seniors in need from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday at the DeKalb Corps Community Center at 830 Grove St.

To register for the program, people should go to the church office on Grove Street and bring in a valid photo ID and an Illinois medical card from the state Department of Human Services, said Mary Ann Mikez, an office assistant at the Salvation Army.
