DeKalb FFA has been busy this fall attending workshops, contests, conventions and more.

Seven DeKalb FFA members participated in the Soil judging CDE in Burlington. Jaylene Jennings ranked seventh and Cole Banta, a second-year member, ranked fifth out of 77 individuals.

The DeKalb Chapter FFA attended the Section Six Leadership Training School at Sycamore High School on Sept. 25. Students learned from the Section Six officers and Illinois FFA Vice President Dalton Heavner about leadership skills and team building.

Fourteen members attended the 85th National Convention in Indianapolis from Oct. 24 to 27. The convention was led by the National FFA Officer Team and highlighted keynote speaker Scott Hamilton. Students had a chance to visit the nation’s largest career show and go to leadership workshops.
