The daughter of James and Sandra Pearson of Genoa, the bride-to-be attended North Central College and Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine & Science. She is employed at Advocate Illinois Masonic Hospital in Chicago.
The son of Leonardo and Katarina Galati of Niles, the groom-to-be attended the University of Illinois. He is employed in the insurance industry in Chicago.
Wig-Bitzenhofer
Alexandra Wig and Alex Bitzenhofer, both of Chicago, are engaged to be married at 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 29, 2012, at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Sycamore.
The daughter of Elizabeth Wig of Rockford and Daniel Wig of Albuquerque, N.M., the bride-to-be is a 2007 graduate of Guilford High School, Rockford, and a 2012 graduate of Northern Illinois University. She is employed in Patient Education at Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children's Hospital of Chicago.
The son of Tamara and Ralph Bitzenhofer of Lake in The Hills, the groom-to-be is a 2005 graduate of Huntley High School in Huntley and a 2011 graduate of NIU. He is employed as a P.E. teacher at Ambrose Plamondon Elementary School, Chicago.
A wedding reception will be held at St. Mary's Memorial Hall, Sycamore, and a honeymoon in Oahu, Hawaii, is planned. The couple currently resides in Chicago.
100th birthday
Willard Dobbeck of DeKalb, formerly of Genoa, will celebrate his 100th birthday on Nov. 17, 2012.
In honor of this momentous occasion, friends and family are invited to celebrate with him from 2 to 4 p.m. Nov. 24 at an open house in the Oak Crest DeKalb Area Retirement Center Vista Room.
The open house will be hosted by his daughter, Carol (Richard) Beilke; granddaughters, Kathy (Prakash) Thatte and Kris (Ross) Oakland; and great-grandchildren, Dr. Todd Oakland (Dr. Marissa Cardwell) and Sara (Brian) Oakland Bates.

Kevin Spartz of Sycamore and Teri (Gensler) Spartz of Rochelle announce the birth of a daughter, Sadie Margaret Spartz, born Aug. 15, 2012, at Kishwaukee Community Hospital, DeKalb. She weighed 8 pounds, 1.5 ounces.
The proud maternal grandparents are Dick and Mary Gensler of Rochelle. Sadie is their ninth grandchild. Paternal grandparents are George and Joann (deceased) Spartz of Sycamore. This is the third grandchild for the Spartz family.
