Social Security offices reduce public hours
DeKALB – Social Security offices throughout the state are reducing the hours their public windows will be open.
Starting Nov. 19, the public windows will be open from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., according to a news release. Starting Jan. 2, the offices will close to the public at noon each Wednesday.
The agency also will be closed to the public Nov. 23, the day after Thanksgiving. Employees working that day will handle backlogged workloads. As the new public hours take effect, agency employees will work the same hours, but the changes will give them more time for interviews and claims processing.
