DeKalb considers changing rules for overnight parking

DeKALB – Downtown residents could soon have the opportunity to leave their vehicles parked overnight in public parking lots – if they pay $120 a year.

The DeKalb City Council will discuss changing its parking system at its committee of the whole meeting Tuesday at 6 p.m. The council normally meets on the second and fourth Mondays of every month, but the Veterans Day holiday is pushing the meeting to Tuesday.

An ordinance needs to be passed before the city can change public parking rules.
