Dental group offers veterans gratitude
Collins Dental Group is celebrating Veteran’s Day from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. today. The first 100 veterans and their immediate families will receive complementary dental cleanings, examinations and oral cancer screenings. There will be six dentists available for complementary routine treatments, such as fillings and extractions.
The staff at Collins Dental Group has been busy planning for this event for months. “It’s our way of thanking them for their sacrifice and service to our nation,” Dr. Dennis Collins said according to a news release. Everyone is eager to contribute their time and energy to these deserving veterans.
As the staff prepares for this community event, Collins described their dedication to the community. “We feel it is important to be part of the social fabric of our community along with our patients. All the dentists at Collins Dental Group live, work, and play in our local community,” he said in the release.
Collins Dental Group is very proud to have Dr. Bryce Deter, D.D.S., U.S. Navy Veteran on staff for more than 20 years.
Deter served five years on active duty as a Dental Officer in the Navy as Lieutenant Commander. His stations included Naval Weapons Center in China Lake, Calif., The Fleet Marine Force in Okinawa, Japan and The Naval War College in Newport, R.I.
“What impressed me most about the Navy is their professionalism,” Deter said in a release. One aspect of Navy Dentistry Dr. Deter has implemented into his practice is the team approach.
“In the Navy I was working with other dentists routinely, so it seemed natural to come into a group practice and have a similar setting. The advantage you have is you see a case, show an x-ray to another doctor and bounce ideas off of them. I think it affords better treatment for the patients.”
