EAST ST. LOUIS – Authorities from multiple agencies are helping to investigate a southwestern Illinois shooting that killed a 23-year-old East St. Louis man.

Investigators with the Major Case Squad of Greater St. Louis said someone repeatedly shot Travon Bey at a home in Madison on Saturday. He later died at a hospital.

Authorities said they have a person of interest in custody and that they plan to seek charges Monday.

Investigators say a 1999 sport utility vehicle missing from the shooting scene was later found abandoned.
