Nominations sought for excellent educators

Nominations for the 2013 DeKalb County Excellence in Education Awards are due Nov. 23.

Nominations should be sent to the attention of the district superintendent of the nominee. Nomination forms can be found on the DeKalb County Community Foundation website, www.dekalbccf.org, at district superintendent offices and at the DeKalb County Regional Office of Education, 2500 N. Annie Glidden Road, Suite C in DeKalb.

The Excellence in Education Awards were established in 1999 by retired Sycamore elementary school teacher Yvonne Johnson with an endowment fund at the DeKalb County Community Foundation. The awards are to honor and acknowledge outstanding teachers, administrators and support staff from school districts throughout DeKalb County. Winners receive $1,000 and are recognized at a reception in March.
