DeKalb's Bemis verbally commits to Wisconsin

Text Size: AaAaAaAaAa

Dekalb junior Courtney Bemis verbally committed to the University of Wisconsin to play volleyball, according to a press release sent by DeKalb athletic director Bryon Houy on Monday morning.

Bemis follows in the footsteps of her older sister, Emily, who plays volleyball at the University of Arizona.

The junior outside hitter helped lead the Barbs (29-9) to a third consecutive regional championship this season.

Bemis was a Northern Illinois Big 12 East Honorable Mention pick last season as a sophomore and was 1st team All-Conference her junior year. She was also named to the Daily Chronicle All-Area Second Team as a sophomore in 2011.

Bemis plays club volleyball with the Kane County Juniors.
