DeKALB – The DeKalb County Community Mental Health Board will have an open position Jan. 1.

The board is seeking applications to fill a board opening, according to a news release. The board was created by referendum and oversees property taxes that support local services for mental health, developmental disabilities and substance abuse.

Some 52 programs in 16 agencies receive board support, according to the news release.

Members must be residents of DeKalb County and may not be employees or board members of any mental health board-funded agencies, the news release states.

The board meets monthly, although members are encouraged to volunteer on committees that also meet monthly.

People can submit letters of interest to Cynthia Luxton, president of the DeKalb County Community Mental Health Board, 250 N. Annie Glidden Road, Suite B, DeKalb, IL 60115.
