Egyptian hosts fine art sale
The Egyptian Theatre, 135 N. Second St. in DeKalb, will host a one-day holiday art sale, featuring 10 DeKalb-area artists, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday.
This holiday art sale has a 20-year tradition. It first supported the Jewish community with a percentage of sales. The annual fine art sale has evolved through a rotation of locations, artists and premise, but the Egyptian Theatre has hosted this event most frequently. The pieces on exhibit are great gifts and a good investment for home or business.
Dale Osterle is the anchor for this group of artists, and has been an active local artist for the past 40 years. Recently many of her hand-painted intaglios have been juried into national and regional shows.
Other notable artists, many of whom are recognized nationally and internationally, with work in the show include Dorothea Bilder (paintings and printmaking), Melanie Dietrich (jewelry), Susan Edwards (watercolors), Michelle Erickson-Goettl (ceramics and metals), Daniel Grych (experimental serigraphs, custom frames and dekalbgallery.com artists), Lori Hartenhoff (silk scarves), Joyce Klein-Munch (color landscape photographs), James Rousonelos (limited-edition lithographs, photographs) and Barbara Thomas (Chicago-themed color photographs).
