Letter: Schmack will take active role as state’s attorney
To the Editor:
As a local attorney, I already have cast my ballot for candidate Richard Schmack.
At the state’s attorney’s office, I think Schmack’s plan to actually take an active role in cases constitutes a better use of local taxpayer money than one state’s attorney who makes six figures duplicating efforts by delegating everything to assistants.
Schmack will actively be in drug court and won’t attempt to cease the program because of a personal vendetta with a judge.
If he disagrees with a judge’s decision, he will continue to act respectfully and professionally. He also has more personal knowledge of local government law to advise local government officials who must make decisions about civil cases than the present state’s attorney.
