To the Editor:
As a veteran, I would like to bring another stark contrast to the differences between the candidates for DeKalb County state’s attorney.
Clay Campbell is a fellow veteran. His opponent is not. Clay’s service to our nation and community began well before this current election.
Clay’s personal support of veterans, their issues and fair treatment deserves DeKalb County veterans’ support Tuesday. His opponent has not served our nation, and although this may appear to be minor for some, it’s an issue worth discussing when a person always places his personal desires before others.
In this instance, that appears to be the case. Clay’s opponent did not run in the Democratic primary, was not interested in meeting the citizens of DeKalb County, and failed to make his private desires of seeking political office known until after an opportunity to meet him was available.
The voters of DeKalb County should assess Clay’s proven record of leadership as our DeKalb County state’s attorney against the actions of a late-horse candidate. I invite all DeKalb County veterans to band together now and support one of our own.
Clay Campbell deserves our support.
