Police seeking details, information on fake cash

Crime Stoppers is seeking information on counterfeit bills used at stores in DeKalb and Sycamore.

On Oct. 17, a man who appeared to be Asian wearing a black jacket with a hood used a fake $100 bill at Hy-Vee, according to a Crime Stoppers news release.

That same day, two other counterfeit $100 bills were passed at Pier One and Payless Shoes.

Those with information about this crime or people involved are urged to contact Crime Stoppers at 815-895-3272 or email crimestoppers@dekalbcounty.org. Callers do not have to give their names.

Crime Stoppers will pay a cash reward of up to $1,000 and those with information can remain anonymous.
