Forged advertising contracts net probation sentence

SYCAMORE – An Elk Grove Village woman was sentenced to probation Monday for forging contracts for a DeKalb-based company.

During a hearing at the DeKalb County Courthouse, Sara M. Glashagel, 28, of the 1100 block of Hawthorne Lane in Elk Grove Village, pleaded guilty to four counts of forgery.

Police said she forged advertising contracts earlier this year for Home Pages directories, whose corporate office, American Marketing and Publishing, is on East Lincoln Highway in DeKalb.

In February, Glashagel pleaded guilty in Lake County to misdemeanor computer tampering, after she was accused of changing the grades of several Antioch High School students, most of whom were athletes. Court documents show she had begun forging contracts in DeKalb by the time of that plea.

On Monday, Glashagel was sentenced to 30 months of probation. She also must perform 300 hours of community service and obtain a psychological evaluation.

She also must pay $1,200 in fines and costs. If she does not complete her probation successfully, she faces 180 days in the DeKalb County Jail.
