Clinton Rosette holds walk-a-thon
Clinton Rosette Middle School students participated in a walk-a-thon last week during their physical education classes.
The event promoted healthy activity and was a fundraiser for the school. So far, the event brought in close to $2,000. The money will go directly to the teachers for the purchase of additional educational items, and to help pay for field trips.
All students walked, ran or jogged around the track during their physical education class. The goal was to be the class that traveled the farthest. The PE class that traveled the farthest received a Dairy Queen treat.
Students who turned in walk-a-thon donations were entered into a raffle to win a variety of prizes including; an iPod touch, a 16 megapixel camera, various salon and barber gift certificates, gift baskets from local businesses, gift cards to local stores and restaurants, jewelry, Northern Illinois University clothing, NIU football tickets, NIU women’s and men’s basketball tickets and a limo lunch trip for the winner and two friends.
