Class 5A football playoff primer

A look at today's playoff football games

Today, the two local football teams that have qualified for the IHSA playoffs begin their journey to Champaign.

Sycamore and Kaneland start the Class 5A playoffs in similar positions to a season ago. The Knights and Spartans will face the exact same schools they did in last year's first round, with the Knights taking on Belvidere and Sycamore facing Chicago King. Both teams are hoping for similar results as 2011, as Sycamore and Kaneland were both victorious to advance to the second round.
