CarlinFest raises funds for Safe Passage

An event to honor the iconic comedian and activist George Carlin will be comprised of a variety of acts including music provided by local and regional bands, on-stage comedy by Chicago-based and local comedians, Carlin-style artwork and George Carlin nostalgia.

A raffle will be held for one of two portraits of the comedian created by local Sharpie artist Justin McAllister. The majority of the proceeds generated from the event and sale of raffle tickets will be donated to Safe Passage in DeKalb, an agency dedicated to the education, prevention and advocacy for domestic violence victims.

The evening will feature an eclectic mixture of music from eight bands including a local folk musician, an all-male a cappella band, a folk/punk artist, a Chicago indie pop rock band, a revolutionary hip hop artist promoting empowerment through the arts, a local punk rock band, a female led indie-rock band and more.
