Band's drummer accused of child porn

EAST ST. LOUIS – A southwestern Illinois man who dresses as a clown while performing as a drummer for a rock band is facing federal charges he had inappropriate sexual relations with a minor and photographed it.

A federal grand jury in East St. Louis has indicted 31-year-old Martin Evanick of Collinsville on one felony count of producing child pornography.

Evanick is accused of convincing a minor to engage in sexual activity in April in Madison County, then photographing the child's genitals.

Evanick is a member of the band called The Core of Your Nightmares and dresses as a clown as part of the act.

A message left Tuesday with his federal public defender, G. Ethan Skaggs, wasn't returned.
