SYCAMORE – A DeKalb teen charged with attacking police officers and jail staff was sentenced to probation Tuesday.

During a hearing at the DeKalb County Courthouse, Kaitlyn M. Park, 18, of the 1300 block of Market Street in DeKalb, pleaded guilty to five counts of battery.

Police said Park – arrested in July – kicked, elbowed and spit on DeKalb police officers and swore at and punched a corrections deputy at the DeKalb County Jail.

Park was sentenced to 24 months of probation and must pay a $1,000 fine.

Under the terms of the plea agreement, she was ordered to obtain a psychological evaluation and continue taking medication prescribed to her.
