SHS to stage ‘Anything Goes’

The Sycamore High School Theater Department will present its fall musical, Cole Porter’s “Anything Goes,” Nov. 1 through 4.

The show takes place aboard an ocean liner bound from New York to London. Billy Crocker is a stowaway in love with heiress Hope Harcourt, who is engaged to Lord Evelyn Oakleigh. Nightclub singer Reno Sweeney and Public Enemy No. 13 Moonface Martin aid Billy in his quest to win Hope.

The musical introduced such songs as “Anything Goes,” “You’re the Top,” “I Get a Kick Out of You” and “It’s Delovely.”

The cast includes Dustin King (Billy Crocker), Paige Harrington (Reno Sweeney), Sara Diemer (Hope Harcourt), Alex Riley (Lord Evelyn Oakleigh), David Boyle (Moonface Martin), Baylee Mood (Erma), Victoria Smith (Mrs. Harcourt), Tommy Phetmeuangmay (Elijah Whitney), Brigid Crawford (Bonnie), Bridget Johnson (Lulu), Madelyn Loellke (Joan), Laura Knuth, Drew Moulton, Brittany Moudy, Erin Vandeburg (Angels), Ashley Finnel (Captain), Kailey Munro, Emma Johnson (Pursers), Emily Flower, Manuela Schreiber, Lindsey Yunker and Sarah Houdek.

The show will be directed by Natalie Boone; music directed by Gary Mattin; pit direction by Garth Anderson; choreographed by Kristin Hill; costumed by Tammy Fisher; and tech directed by David Olson, Ralph Helm and Kirsten Erikson,

Student technical staff includes Brigid Crawford, Samantha Butkis, Jake Pisarski, Jordan Shultz, Izzy Johnson and Cameron Smith.

Show times will be 7:30 p.m. Nov. 1 to 3 and 2 p.m. Nov. 4 at the Sycamore High School Auditorium, 555 Spartan Trail, Sycamore.

Tickets cost $6 and can be purchased online at www.syc427.org or in person on Oct. 29 or one hour before curtain.
