Police investigate campaign sign thefts
SYCAMORE – Authorities are seeking information on the theft of campaign signs for a candidate for circuit judge.
DeKalb County Sheriff Roger Scott said nine signs – four in Sycamore and five from county property near Routes 23 and 72 – for Bill Brady were stolen in the early morning hours Thursday.
Brady, a Republican, is an associate judge running for an open circuit judge position in the Nov. 6 election.
Plastic ties securing the 4-foot by 4-foot signs to poles appeared to have been clipped, Scott said. Police believe a small, dark-colored, four-door truck was involved in the theft.
Those with information on the theft of signs are asked to contact the sheriff’s office at 815-895-2155.
