SYCAMORE – A Maywood man who pleaded guilty Monday to residential burglary was sentenced to five years in prison.

Coris L. Ashford, 18, was charged in a DeKalb home invasion last year.

On Nov. 2, Ashford and Peter Hrobowski of Hillside displayed handguns and demanded property from two residents of an apartment in the 800 block of Greenbrier Road, police said.

The suspects took electronic items and ran.

Police said the incident was not a random act.

Ashford will receive credit for time served in the DeKalb County Jail and also must pay a $2,500 fine.
