SYCAMORE — Two men charged in an armed robbery early Saturday had bond set at $500,000 each Monday.

James D. Black, 18, of the 1100 block of South Sixth Street in DeKalb, and Darius Fizer, 21, of the 2500 block of Williams Way in DeKalb, were charged with armed robbery. Black also was charged with three counts of aggravated unlawful use of a weapon and resisting a peace officer. Fizer faces one count of aggravated unlawful use of a weapon.

If convicted of armed robbery, each man could face up to 30 years in prison. Black and Fizer appeared in court Monday via closed-circuit TV from the DeKalb County Jail.

According to court documents, two people reported an armed robbery occurred about 1:25 a.m. Saturday in the 900 block of Ridge Drive in DeKalb. One of the suspects had a small, silver handgun and the other had black brass knuckles.

The two men took money, cell phones, cigarettes and Hennessy liquor from the victims and threatened to shoot them if they did not comply, according to court documents. After the victims described the men to police, Black and Fizer were found near 7-Eleven on Annie Glidden Road.

Black, who resisted arrest, had a silver and black semi-automatic handgun, both victims' cash and one victim's cell phone. Frazier had the Hennessy liquor and one victim's cigarettes, according to court documents.

Prosecutors said Black has pending charges of forgery, criminal trespass and resisting police. He also has a juvenile history that includes multiple felonies. Fizer was previously convicted of aggravated robbery in 2010.

Black will appear in court again Nov. 13. Fizer will be in court Nov. 5.
